Share a recipe with a friend

Send a recipe through Messages, Mail, or WhatsApp: your friend can read it without an account, and add it to their library in one tap.

Found a recipe worth passing along? Send it in one gesture: the person receives the full text and an Olivi link to view it, and add it to their own library in one tap.

Share a recipe

  1. Open the recipe in your library.
  2. Tap the Share button (on mobile, it sits next to "Add to plan").
  3. The share sheet opens: pick Messages, Mail, WhatsApp… (on the web, the link can also be copied to the clipboard).

The message contains the title and the olivi.ca/r/… link: in Messages or WhatsApp, the preview shows up with the dish photo. The whole recipe is one tap away, on the page or in the app.

What your friend sees

The link opens a public page with the photo, times, servings, ingredients, and instructions: no account needed to view it. The page mentions the recipe was shared by you.

  • If they have the Olivi app on their phone, the link opens straight into the app.
  • If they have an account, the "Add to my recipes" button copies the recipe (photo included) into their library, in one tap. If not, they can create an account from the page and add it afterwards.

The copy is theirs: each of you edits your own version, without touching the other's.

Good to know
Re-sharing the same recipe gives out the same link. The link stays active as long as your recipe exists: delete the recipe and it stops working. And if your friend tries to add the same recipe twice, Olivi says so: no duplicates.
Tip
The shared page isn't indexed by search engines, but anyone who has the link can see it: share it the way you'd share a photo.
