My freezer: the inventory of your cooked-ahead dishes

The dishes from your “freezer” batch cooking sessions, with remaining portions, an Add-to-plan button that counts down, and Olive aware of your stock.

My freezer is the inventory of your cooked-ahead dishes: each dish keeps its remaining portions, counted down when you plan it. You'll find it at the top of the Pantry page.

How dishes get in

  1. Run a batch cooking session and, on the proposal, flip the dishes you want to cook ahead to ❄️ (each dish has its own 📅 / ❄️ toggle: nothing set to ❄️ enters your weekly plan). Olive can build the menu, or you pick 2 to 6 recipes from your own collection.
  2. Cook your session checking off the steps, then tap Save session at the end. THAT is what sends the dishes to the inventory (a ❄️ banner reminds you during the session, and the “❄️ X dishes added” confirmation shows afterwards).
  3. Each dish enters the inventory with its portions (from the recipe) and its freezing date.

After a regular session (“Into my week”), you can also send the dishes to the inventory with the “❄️ Add these dishes to My freezer” button shown at the end.

Managing the inventory

  • − / +: adjust portions by hand (a dish at 0 portions disappears).
  • Add to plan: places the dish on the next free dinner slot of your week, it shows on the plan with a ❄️ and the note that it just needs reheating: then counts down your household's portions (e.g. 8 portions − 4 people = 4 left).
  • (or swipe the dish left on mobile): removes a dish from the inventory.
  • Tapping a dish name opens its full recipe.

Olive knows

Olive knows your freezer: on a busy night she'll suggest reheating a dish from your stock (oldest first) before inventing a new recipe. And when she builds a new freezer session, she avoids repeating what you already have.

Tip
Rule of thumb: 3 to 4 months in the freezer for stews, soups, sauces and casseroles. The inventory shows each dish's freezing date to help you rotate your stock.
